do you have to jack up engine before taking off motor mount to remove serpentine belt on vortec v6 engine

on some vehicles yes you do. On some like the cavalier or sunbird with a 4 cyl you will have to pull the right tire and inner fenderwell off to gain access. On a 6cyl the tensioner is located in the middle of the block and all you need is a 15mm socket on a breakerbar and you can move the tensioner either way
