the door catch on my hotpoint aquarius has broken?

A little too late to answer Elaine, but may be of use to others.

In the door handle is a small spring. obtainable from many places on the web. I this is broken the catch does not push the switch thereby not starting the dryer.

If after squeezing the inner part of the handle it does not spring apart when released it is the spring that is broken.

Easilly replaced. Undo the two screws to take off the door and take the door apart and replace the spring.

This worked with my TLD30S Dryer.
