Mend Hotpoint WMA56 Washing Machine Spin Cycle Pump

Aquarius WMA56 not going into fast spin?

My hotpoint Aquarius will not go into the fast spin cycle for some reason, it will slow spin and just when the fast spin is about to kick in the machine cuts out. I have not over filled it and the filter at the back is clear, the outlet pump is working fine and I can't think of anything else....... any idea guys?
