Mend Tricity Bendix dh101 Dishwasher Repair Spring

The door return spring seems to have broken?

Tricity Bendix dh101. There seems to be a door balance spring so that when the door is opened a balance type spring lets you open the door and leave it in any position you like. This no longer works and the door freefalls from the closed position to the fully open position. Any ideas please?
