Iveco 75E15 1995. Ignition clicks when trying to start, nothing happens!?

Where is the inhibitor switch and remote starter on a 75e15

get a decent wagon, all iveco's i've had give the same trouble from trucks to vans, either that or learn to hotwire! i reccomend a stint in prison, you'll get a few weeks free if you shove a large wheel brace...

hi dave i have a 1997 75e-15 with the same problem i sorted mine by putting on a new starter solenoid very easy to do ,starts every time now no problem.suggest u try this

Hiya Dave....on those cargoes there is an inhibitor switch to prevent you useing the key to start the truck while the cab is tilted making it ONLY possible to start the engine with the mechanics remote starter button by the engine..(its a safety device) it might be worth having a look at the cab trip switch or tryin to start the truck with the remote button under the wheel-arch if the key wont do it.......

most cargoes also have a very good immobiliser that takes a few seconds to read the fob chip and you can usually hear the relays click in when its found the signal

if its not that you might have a flat spot on the starter motor or another common problem is a poor connection on the low tension side of the starter solenoid...its the small wire going onto the starter motor....if you take it off and clean the terminal

When trying to start your vehicle is your alternator light on or off? If you have no alternator light your vehicle will not start, if this is so bridge out the alternator relay (top left handside of the fuse board) you will need to replace the alternator to fully solve this problem. Also check wiring as it comes out of the alternator where it bends down and loops the wiring can break creating the same symptoms as a faulty alternator.

Dave, the clicking that you can hear is actually a relay trying to work...can you get behind the dash and feel it clicking - so you can identify which one it is? Its worth replacing it just to be on the safe side.
