Hiya Dave....on those cargoes there is an inhibitor switch to prevent you useing the key to start the truck while the cab is tilted making it ONLY possible to start the engine with the mechanics remote starter button by the engine..(its a safety device) it might be worth having a look at the cab trip switch or tryin to start the truck with the remote button under the wheel-arch if the key wont do it.......
most cargoes also have a very good immobiliser that takes a few seconds to read the fob chip and you can usually hear the relays click in when its found the signal
if its not that you might have a flat spot on the starter motor or another common problem is a poor connection on the low tension side of the starter solenoid...its the small wire going onto the starter motor....if you take it off and clean the terminal
