Mend Ford Mondeo 1.8 D Problem Help

FORD MONDEO 1.8 D STEERING PROBLEM PLEASE HELP?

WHENEVER I TURN TH STEERING IT GETS STUCK FOR A WHILE AT A CERTAIN SPOT THEN UNSTUCK AND THIS HAPPENS IN EITHER DIRECTIONS,SOMEONE TOLD ME IT MAY BE THE STEERING ROD,IS IT SO AND IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I CAN FIX IT MASELF,HELP ME OUT MATES.

At the bottom of the steering column there is a 'universal joint' that allows the movement of the steering column to change direction to engage with the steering rack. The needle rollers in this UJ often dislocate, giving this odd feeling to the steering, and its this that needs to be replaced.
