I cannot get my chainsaw to start. It has been sitting for awhile?

I need to find out how I can get my chainsaw started. I probably need to take apart and clean the spark plug, but since I jusr got it. I would not even know where to start on the taking apart. I don;t have a manual for it either.

Get some wd-40 and take off the air filter and spray some wd-40 into the carb. not a lot but enough to get it started. try to crank it and if it tries to start then you have a fuel problem if it doesn't try to start then you have a spark or compression problem. If it tries to run then you need to pull the carb. off and disassemble it and clean it with carb. cleaner. Be careful not to loose the little inlet screen on one side. Make sure to remember which way the metering diaphragm and fuel pump diaphragm goes back on. This is extremely important! It would also be a good idea to replace the fuel filter in the fuel tank.

Just a couple of things to do - replace any old fuel. Remove the spark plug, clean it, and see if it sparks - make sure it is grounded to the engine metal though. Crank the engine a few times to clear any residual fuel in there, heat the plug up with a blowtorch if you can and try again.
