How to replace door opening button?

Thank you for your advice.

The door opening button is a single piece of plastic/PVC material and has no metal parts and also no electrical wiring. The part is available from www.repairclinic.com under part no. 761089. Please let me know whether your original advice still stands after viewing the part. I just want to be absolutely sure before doing anything that may endanger myself.

Do not even attempt it. Microwaves are invisible and extremely dangerous. The effects of microwave energy may not become apparant for years. Either have it repaired by a qualified electrician (make sure he is qualified to deal with magnetrons) or buy a new one.
