Mend MDT 840 Mowing Deck Belt

How can I fix my MDT 840 lawn tractor?

my MDT lawn tractor mowing deck will not work right
when I engage the mower the belt smokes and the
blades do not turn. It is a MDT 840 LAWN TRACTOR

If the belt smokes, its because the cutter deck blades have locked up, maybe due to you picking up a twig or stones, or possibly its just choked up with grass cuttings. Reach under the cutter deck (engine OFF!) and see if you can rotate the blades by hand.
