Mend Fiat Marea 1.8 Timing Marks Cam

timing marks on a fiat marea 1.8 petrol?

Hi all. I have a marea 1.8 X REG petrol and the cam belt went on me recently. Will there be serious damage to the head and valves and what positions do I set the marks on the crank pulley and cam sprockets? Hope someone can. Regards Michael.

hi damage is pretty certain (valves and guides bend and crack) cams need a special dti tool for settings.the marks on cams dont relate to anything although they look like they should, i have run fiats for years and this 1800cc is not the best to set up. try and find a secondhand head it may be cheaper bits are not cheap good luck.
