How can I fix my 62 inch big screen tv?

I bought my tv in 1997. It comes on but it is stuck on channel
12. I lost the remote to this television so I try to change the channels on the front of the television. There was a bad storm
Sunday night July 10, 2005 and the power went off, it was working fine. The next day the television tv guide plus is stuck
on where you can't cancel it. I have my television on Direct TV
since January 2005. what Can I Do to correct this problem
