nissan micra cvt gearbox problem?

Hi i have just brought a 1996 nissan micra automatic but it's very stiff when trying to move into reverse or drive or any gear really also makes an awful noise when trying. Please can you advise.

Hi i have 2 micras 1L manual trans can I convert them to automatics has I am having severe left knee problems and at what cost? Thank you

Hornsey transmissions could have the answer.

my 1993 Micra auto is stiff to change gears with engine on but smooth off. Apparently its the coupler not the gearbox.. they say.

Also they do a £90 gearbox oil change when i had always been told it was a sealed unit.. 86,000 miles ago!

check the brushes in the gearbox they may have worn down.
Remove battery, remove battery tray, u should see the connectors for the brushes (be careful not to damage the holders taking them out).
Other causes inlcude low fluid level, sensors on accelerator pedal, sensor on gearbox (cant remember where exactly though), faulty control unit (behind centre console) also check the fuse for the cvt control unit(under bonnet) and also relay(under bonnet)
