How do i replace my power button on my Dyson-DC 04....???

After pushing and prodding at my defunct Dyson DC04 switch for a while I found it remarkably simple

Firstly - gently pry off the (usually yellow) plastic push on-off button - slip a thin blade e.g. a small table knife down the flat side off the on-off button (if it breaks the retaining tab, as mine did, check the Web for spares suppliers (not Dyson!) - they sell the switches, housings and push-buttons seperately for reasonable prices)

The removal reveals a torx-type head (recess star) self-tapping screw

Remove the screw and you can then pull up the switch housing
and gain access to the switch and cable ends

Might be a good idea to make a sketch of the wiring arrangement before further dismantling

(I belive that if a machine has been assembled then it should always be possible to dis-assemble it. Manufacturers make it simpler and cheaper for themselves to produce and harder for us to avoid throwing them away if something relatively simple goes wrong)
