An update to my answer earlier. Don't mess with the front screw either. It needs to be set so the engine idles at 2800 rpm.

Don't do what John said. This will blow up your saw. If you don't have a rpm meter then do not , do not mess with the screw that is closer to back of the saw. This is the high speed adjust. If this is not set right to limit the engine at 13,000 rpm or a tad lower and it over revs. it will seize on you. The correct ratio for Stihl is 50:1. You probably have fuel that is way to rich. buy some more fuel (93 octane recommended) and get some Stihl 1 Gal. oil mix and add 1 gal. of gas. Now, this is a very common mistake, Do not add more oil to the can when there is a little bit of mix in the bottom. Over time this causes an over rich (too much oil) mixture. Only add oil to the can when it is completely empty.

Clean the air cleaner element first - then you'll see 2 screws on the side of the carburettor. Turn each one fully in, then back out again one turn - this will get things moving again. If the smoke doesn't clear after a while, the fuel/oil mix is too rich. Try a 25:1 fuel /oil mix using a semi synthetic two stroke oil.
