Mend Hotpoint WD860 Washer Dryer Fault

Hi all

I have a Hotpoint WD860 washer/dryer which has kept on breaking down since a week after we bought it - it is coming up for 2 years old now and has broken down again...

The fault this time is that it washes the load perfectly, pumps out water and empties the machine perfectly but does not achieve the high speed spin that it should. The drum just rotates slowly... does anyone know what the problem could be please?

The most common fault is the motor needs brushes or may just need the commutator on the motor cleaning up
