Gilera runner sp50 water leak?

filled my Gilera Runner up with water then noticed it was slowly dripping out of the metal casing near the kick start, but the hole looks like its suppose to be there maybe a vent of some sort ? when running the water just leaks out even quicker. Any ideas would be great ???
