How do I cleanse my Washing Machine?

I have a Zanussi Aquacycle washing machine and though I have cleaned out filter regularly I still doesn't drain all the water away, and the water I syphon off with the pipe in the base of the machine 'STINKS' as hell!!! Is there any way I can stop this occurring? Is something stuck inside which I need to get to which may be causing a blockage elsewhere? Would love some help on this one. My house stinks when I try and clean it!!! Nigel.

when did last do a service wash of 95* degrees? do this with NO WASHING add some bleach through the soap draw allow to wash do this every couple of months to KILL the bacteria/mould that is LIVING IN your machine caused by lots of LOW temperature washes
i e 30* or 40* degrees only
is your washer connected to a sink u bend ?
((the stink ain't coming back from the sink connection is it, as dirty water flows back in to the washer,(This does not apply if you have a stand pipe connection))
