How can I fix a faulty drum on a Hotpoint Aquarius 1200?

Washing machine - Hotpoint Aquarius 1200
How do you repair a washer that will spin for so long and then after a couple of minutes the drum makes a loud knocking noise. This does not occur when the drum is empty.

I think the spider may be on its way out. This will require a strp down of the machine. If your not up to it call a local engineer. (parts should cost about £45 - £50).
