Rainbow Vacuum Dc3 Model-Separator Nut?

How is the Separator Nut removed when it is tight and will not move? The plastic separator is broken and needs to be replaced. Thank You.

disassemble D3C canister housing to get at top of motor, then hold a wrench on the top shaft/nut of motor while wrenching the bottom (separator) nut. (Hav e you tried "liquid wrench" already?)
