Brand new Hotpoint Aquarius FDW20 dishwasher doesn't work?

This has happened to my 5 yr old machine3 times now. The first time I called an engineer out and he showed me the cause of problem. If you get the prewash and wash lights flashing the problem is with the small drain pump. When removed from the pipe there is a small rubber flap valve and usually there is something stuck in there which stops it shutting. Remove this and all should be ok. Just done this for the fourth time....good fix again. One way to avoid this is to make sure that all items that are put in the dishwasher are rinsed first. Easy job to do but you must enter the workings from underneath.

My FDW20 is not new same problem any ideas please?

check that the water taps are switched on if they are get them out to it as it's new and covered
