How can I tighten my flickmixer tap?

go to hardware store and ask for tap extension socket tool has shape of nuts on both ends about 8 inches long and a bar to fit in holes in ext bar push up to over nut on mixer turn bar to tighten as i have one for mine mine was loose too

I have a similar prob only there is no horse shoe washer instead there is a 34mm nut that also acts as the washer, I cant find any tube sockets to fit it any ideas appart from removing the sink, tightening and then reinstalling the sink??

Every flickmixer is secured by one or two hex nuts on a brass thread protruding through the underside of the tap under the sink. It's usually hard to reach with conventional spanners and a basin spanner is for other pillar taps not flickmixers! The new tap would've come with a socket spanner sometimes with a blue plastic end to tighten the offending nuts, if you don't still have it you'll need a long series socket on an extension arm. Check also that the horseshoe shaped base plate has not corroded awy as this often happens and the nuts cannot be tightened against a washer that's icomplete due to rust or electrolytic corrosion.

You will need to use a “Basin” or Sink spanner, a long kind of gripping tool that works one way only to get to the locking nut that clamps the tap body down to the sink. That’s all that has come loose, the locking nut… If you can’t get hold of a basin spanner then you may be able to get a normal adjustable spanner onto it, long ways and use a screwdriver through the hole at the end of the handle to turn it. This requires the use of both hands and you may need someone to help hold the tap body in the right position while you tighten it up…
