I have a Poloroid DVD/VCR combo - DVC-2000; I turned it on to DVD and did not get the poloroid logo bouncing around like I usually do, It static/snapped and went to a black screen. Playing a DVD gives sound but a blank screen. The VCR is fine - I can play tapes, but as soon as I click on DVD - black.
I did what Brian said from the Poloroid website and it worked for me! Whhhoooo hoooooo!

Polaroid's website suggests:
Press the I/P button on the remote control when the unit is in DVD mode (red DVD lit on the front panel) to get picture with the sound.
