Mend Baxi 105E Instant Boiler

domestic hot water problem Baxi 105e instant?

In all respect my boiler appears to do everything it should. No fault warnings, sounds right, fires up on demand of hot water and heating, but after initial pre-heated water I can't get an adequate flow of hot water.I can sometimes get a warm flow, sometimes hot if flow is a trickle, but then that turns cold. However when the heating is not is switched on the flow to the radiators gets hot.
I have checked the operation of the diaphrams and microswitches and changed the hot water thermister, before changing the diverter valve.I called on the services of a neighbour who is a plumber,he checked everything and diagnosed a plate heat exchanger problem which was then changed but has made no difference.I have since changed the PCB,but the problem remains.

I had the same problem - plenty heating but no hot water through any of my four set of taps. I tried to get the answer from a plumber who gets in my local."it's never going to be the diaphragm,it's the heat exchanger" was his attitude. Well, thanks to everyone here, I easily got the manual, then it was off to the plumbers merchants, and less than a tenner and about half an hour later my water was bag piping hot...

MANY MANY THANKS TO ALL.....

take off the div valve assembley, clean out everything inside, refix inc new washers, refill & it will probably work for 2 years before overhaul req again. (Power flush system???) Ive done this to 2nr 105e instants & it cured it (1 has lasted lasted 18mnths no probs, other needs doing again after 2 yrs)....

just had my baxi 105he fixed domestic hot water was'nt reaching temperature and then started running cold when tap left running. turned out to be domestic water supply heat exchanger. Plumber removed old one and showed me little bits of grit coming out of it which was causing lack of hot water. charged me £45 for exchanger and £25 to fit total £70. cured the problem immediately.

I've got a similar problem with my Baxi 105e. I've had several plumbers look at it and I'll describe what they've done (to no good effect). The fault is that once the preheated water is gone, the hot water tap runs cold. If you turn the boiler off, then hold the reset nob for a few seconds, the boiler will then function correctly, to fill a bath for instance. Once the bath is full and the hot tap is turned off, further attempts to get hot water will fail until the boiler is again reset. Confronted with these symptoms, the first plumber noted that pressure was a little low and replaced the pressure relief valve. Not suprisingly this made no difference at all. The second plumber replaced "the sensors". He also pumped some air in via a valve at the back of the boiler to check that something else was working OK, and he said it was. He said if this did not cure the problem, then it would probably be the heat exchanger, which could be clogged up. He explained that an old heat exchanger could be cleaned out by a professional company, and reused once it was cleaned. He suggested that changing the heat exchanger was a big job and hinted that it probably wouldn't be covered by my boiler cover with Southern Electric. Hope this info helps rule out a few red herrings. I'm still deciding what my next move should be. Good luck

divertor sounds like it is passing, sending most of the heat down the flow pipe, plate heat exchanger is faulty if one side of it is very hot and the other is cool, also hw spindle gets corroded with scale
