parafin smell?

Its probably the gasket on the top of the boiler thats leaking a bit....if you can take the top cover off the unit you'll probably find a cast iron plate held by a couple of bolts. Beneath this is a rope type seal which is best sealed properly using some fireclay cement. Look for traces of carbon all around the flue pipe areas.
