Mend Polti VT Steam Heats Water

No steam from my Polti VT?

My Polti Model VT (Silver) has hardly ever been used and functioned perfectly when last used. Always emptied after use it still heats the water but will not eject steam, I suspect that the valve may be defective. If so, are these still available. Purchased February 04. I had a similar problem with my Polti Eco 2000 steam cleaner. In my case it tuned out to be limescale that was blocking it. I bought a pack of "Kal-Stop" (got it on ebay) which seemed to clear the problem, and the machine has worked since. Might be worth a try.
