Hotpoint Aquarius WT540 has half load light flashing and on/off light flashing. door locks. wash light comes on. sounds like water filling up and then the half load light and on/off light flash
what if after plug it back I have still problem with flashing lights ??

I have had the same problem and i switched it off from the mains but now the machine does not spin....i have tried different cycles and half way through when it comes to spin it stops and lights start flashing. Ive cleaned the filter and the problem is still there...any suggestions????

I have the same Hotpoint WT540 which has the half load lights flashing and the power lights cannot be turned off.
I switched it off at the mains and waited for sometime to reset (about an hour it could be less). Later when I switched on at the mains I was able to cancel the on/off light.

all you have to do, is just unplug it for a few mins, then plug it back in, to reset it, problem should then be solved
