halstead ace boiler locked out?

It's Probably your overheat stat needs resetting. There is a button on the bottom left side of the boiler (a red button) you have to push this in to reset from a overheat situation. Make sure you have at least 1 bar pressure on your pressure gauge. Then your boiler should work.

Is the fan running.the bearings can seize and if the fan aint running then the gas valve wont open.
You need to take the front off the burner to see the fan, isolate the gas so that the burner doesnt light and singe your particles.
If you open a tap then the fan should run before the gas valve opens.Make sure you dont touch the fan while you have the cover off as it is live and all the motor is exposed.

IF YOU ARE GETTING LOCK OUT CODE 3 THIS IS A GAS PROBLEM IF THE BOILER IS AN ACE HE30 (YOU DONT MENTION MODEL) TURN TEMP CONTROL ANTI CLOCK AND BACK TO RESET, IF IT DOES AND PROBLEM PERSISTS IT IS EITHER GAS VALVE OR BLOCKED HEAT EXCHANGER NORMALLY BUT THERE ARE DOZENS OF OTHER FACTORS, TRY AND GIVE MORE SPECIFIC INFO AND I WILL TRY TO HELP, i HAVE AN ACE AND IT IS RUBBISH

Alright Mark,
Have you checked the thermal cut out switch, as you look at the boiler on the bottom left (underneath) should be a small hole, inside that hole is a small button, make sure this is pushed in (set) if your boiler has overheated (this can sometimes happen in long DHW draw offs) the button pops out, this is a safety device and will stop your boiler firing.
