How can I reduce co2 emissions to legal level in my mondeo?
My Ford Mondeo 1999 model, 1.8 Zetec petrol engine has failed MOT due to high co2 emissions. What could the problem be? I've recently renewed the air filter.
Had a nightmare with my Mondeo Zetec at MOT time. High Co2 but HC reading was fine. Lambda reading was erratic. Tried all of above at local garage but no use so got lambda and plugs change. Bingo! Emissions dropped sharply . Noticed i was using a hell of a lot of fuel as well before MOT.

ive just had the same problem and ive been told that its to do with the cat as every thing else is working

THIS HAPPEND TO ME ON MY LAST CAR ( FIAT BRAVA ) ADVISED TO USE ENGINE FLUSH AND DO AN OIL AND FILTER CHANGE ALSO PUT REDEX IN CAR PASSED EMMISIONS TEST EASY
