Mend Ryobi Battery Charger Blown

Ryobi 18v battery charger internal fuse?

the internal fuse on my ryobi battery charger has blown, does anybody know what the values of it is, as the etching has been worn away?

Mine is a 4amp glass in line fuse in my 18v Ryobi One+ charger. Not sure if it was slow or fast blow. I could not find a new one that fit the clamps so I used an automotive 4amp glass fuse with a larger diameter metal ends on it and it blew when trying to recharge a fully discharged 18v One+ older battery that worked 6 years ago before being stored long term. I replaced the 4amp with a 7.5amp glass fuse and tried the YouTube hack that has worked for me before with dead Ryobi batteries by, plugging in and unplugging the charger with battery inserted, until the red charger led illuminates. With the 7.5v glass fuse installed, my battery is now charging. The 7.5amp glass charger fuse however is a bit larger in diameter than the 4amper and the clamps are able to accommodate this larger diameter and larger amp glass charger fuse.

I put aluiminum foil over it to test if this was the issue ... worked ! - so not long term fix or smart unless u keep an eye on it - keep it open - and keep on marble countertop ;-)

The fuse is 125v 4amp slow blow or a 250v 2amp slow blow fuse.

It's a 4AMP slo blow. I labelled the outside of the charger, then taped a spare to it.

the one in my 18 volt one plus battery charger, which blew on first use, was marked 5A 250v so i assume that means 5 amps, however i have just replaced it with a 2 amp fuse as i had a whole packet of those and no 5 amp ones and it has been charging for 30 minutes or the red led is on anyway !
