i have a problem with my washing machine?

i took of the cap on the botom left hand side of my whirlpool 1000 splin washing machine and now i cant get it back on, water is pouring out

I have a Whirlpool duet Mod: GHW9100LW1. The rubber seal/ bellow is messed up and i am trying to replace it myself. How does it come off and back on...Its the seal on behind the front door.

Its the filter unit, which needs to be undone and cleaned out periodically. Unscrew the filter cap, pull out the filter. Now push the unit in till the rubber sealing ring slides inside the filter body. Screwing in the screw will expand the rubber ring and will provide a watertight seal.
