problems with my..hotpoint first edition 1000 (wm52) wash machine?

when i wash clothes on my machine,on removing clothes after washing, there seems to be black marks on the clothes.
its like spots the same spacing as the water inlet/outlet on the inside of the drum, when i wash again after in a neighbours machine the spots wash ok,so its maybe not oil???,but i dont know what else it could be

hi art. Bearings are metal and wouldnt have any plastic parts - in addition a broken bearing would rattle like hell and be quite obvious. The bearings are covered by a rubber seal. might be bits of the seal breaking up, though seals are generally black rubber. May be damage to the outer drum if its made of plastic. Loose coins and other debris flying between the drums at spin speed would certainly gouge out lumps of plastic and could easily hole the drum.
If i were you id disconnect the sump hose (the big one which connects to the filter or pump) from bottom of drum and stick my fingers in to check for coins etc.

Probably mould marks. A combination of low temp washes and biological detergents encourages a growth of slimy mould inside the drum. Do an empty wash at the highest temperature setting and put a cupful of white vinegar in the drum. The combination of high temp and increased acidity should clear it out. Do that every couple of months to keep it clear.
