how can i fix my panasonic dmr-e55eb/ebl dvd recorder?
the problem is when recording in any mode ie manual or programmed recording it will only record for about 20 mins then stops. the display shows self check then search also i am unable to remove the disc until the original timed programmed time has elapsed. the model ia a panasonic DMR-E55EB/EBL
The reason your player will not record correctly and keeps self checking is because there is a faulty regulator on the power board. It is easy to fix and parts are available online, but you need to be able to use a soldering iron and take the board out to fix it. This is a common problem especially if the unit is two or three years old, but as I say it's easily fixed.
