How do I enter radio code, Vectra radio type CCR 600?
After renewing the battery I attempted to recode the radio but did it incorrectly several times. Now with 7 attempts still available and following the instructions in the manual, I find that when holding down the AS button for "ever" there is still no beep! This means that I cannot enter the code. Can anyone advise?
Excellent tip just sat in the car for 10 mins with AS button pressed for the duration and hey presto it worked!!

I HAVE ENTERED THE CODE FOR VDO CDR500 ON THE FOLLOWING WAY
1. WITH THE CAR IGNITION ON (START THE CAR)
2. HOLD THE 'AS' BUTTON AND TURN ON THE RADIO. THEN YOU WILL HEAR THE BEEP SOUND. THEN ENTER THE CODE USING THE NUMBER BUTTON.
3. AFTER ENTERING THE CODE, AGAIN PRESS THE 'AS' BUTTON. THEN YOU WILL HEAR THE BEEP SOUND AGAIN CONFIRMING YOU SUCCESSFULLY ENTERED THE CODE.

Problem now solved!
I now know that I was not holding in the AS button as long as I should have done. After 3 attempts it must be held in for at least 10 minutes. The instruction booklet does not mention that the button has to be held in for the duration of the "waiting" time, only that you have to wait!
