Mend Switch Power Remains

MY Desktop is not switching on. ?

When I switch on my desktop, the power LED is on, but the HDD LED is not. The desktop screen remains blank. Is this related to HDD or power failure?

What steps can i use to repair this.

Is your pc an emachine or one of these from pc world? such as Advent,Medion,Gateway etc?

Are you getting any beeping sounds from the computer speaker - not the desk speakers. If so you will have to count how many long and short beeps and in what order. This is a Diagnostic to tell you why the Mother Board is not working.
