epson perfection scanner 4180, get flashing red on opening. how can I try to repair it myself. I don't want to spend the $75 or more just to have Epson look at it. Any manuals available?
You have to unlock the switch located below the lid (right corner at the back) in oder to release the scanning mechanism of your scanner. The same hapen to me when I first used my 4490 Epson model.
