parity is a system check that works by counting the amount of data being received (i/o = input/output)_ then comparing the total with the amount of data that was expected_ so a parity error means that the two amounts don't tally_
the only times i've ever seen a parity error report there was a fault with the actual cpu chip (one was cracked) and as you sent your question over a year ago i'm assuming you've already bought a new computer
