Mend Leisure Laureat Deluxe Turn Oven Flame

how can i turn of oven flame?

the flame on my Leisure Laureat Deluxe will not turn off completely ( the oven ) When the oven control is turned off there is still an escape of gas As a consequence I keep the flame on low all the time. What a waste! Can I fix it?
