How can i fix my car a/c?

when you turn on your a/c you should hear a click.If you don't hear a click that means your compressor is not turning>check the fuse and wiring to the compressor first.If you are getting power to the compressor but its not turning,,,that means its shot out or its stuck.try beating on it with a ball peen hammer,,much the way you would do if the solenoid on your starter isnt engaging,,,this just means that it got a little hot and warped a little....tap on the compresser with the a/c on normal hi and be carefull not to hit a line or valve...you could really make it pop if you are not precise with that ball end of the ball peen hammer..If it still doesnt click when you turn it on,,you need to most likely open it up and see why it isnt moving,,remembering that you want to fix it ,,,,yourself right?So sticking with the plan you i can fix it myself,,,either go to the pick a part junkyard and find your make and model and rip out the compressor motor.Pocket all of the pocketable items,,fuses wiring,stuff like that.Before you actually pay for the compressor,,,run a 12v current through it and see if it functions,,,it could be bad too.If that is too much work,,,go to autozone and order 1.New parts under warranty are the best way to go,,,however if not installed properly the warranty is void ,,,so get a book from autozone as well,,A BOOK THAT SPECIFICALLY HAS OR COVERS YOUR MAKE AND MODEL,,,YOU CAN JUST FLIP THROUGH IT AND FING THE A/C SECTION PULL OUT YOUR LITTLE CAMERA AND SNAP AWAY THE PAGES YOU NEED,,A CELL PHONE CAM WILL WORK IF YOU CAN HOLD IT NICE AND STILL...iF THIS IS TOO MUCH YOU CAN ALWAYS BUY A CIGARETTE LITER A/C THE PLUGS RIGHT IN TO THE CIGARETTE LITER LIKE YOUR CELL PHONE CHARGER DOES.
