stuck dipstick on renault laguna?

Hi
Any ideas how we can get a stuck dipstick out of a laguna please

I have same problem on Astra
When I tried twisting it free, the 'ring' that you pull with has now snapped!

So now have to get new one and remove old one without getting any 'bits' going down the dipstick tube
