Creda Concept C361E dual grille?

I have bought a new thermostat but need advice on how to remove the old one. Do I need to remove the complete front panel, or is there a way to access the rear of the panel and unscrew the old control? I have some knowledge of cookers but need to know how to get at the little blighter.

tricky job not really DIY both side panels off , hob lifted , and the facia panel has to be released to access switches !!!! .
