i bought a mac 2816 at a tag sale for $2.00 i thought i got robbed. spent 5 hours and $5.00 and it runs like a champ. the air/fuel adjustments did not look good. air the white was all the way clockwise and fuel red was all the way counterclockwise.in my case and maby yours the fuel lines were in bad shape and one had a crack.perhaps they thought it was the adjustments.so i changed all three fuel lines and also the intank filter(it was in bad shape).i moved both screws so they were pointing to 12 o'clock. primed 4 times put on choke and third pull got action. put in start position full throtol and it ran then bogged down to stall. moved air almost all left and fuel 4 nothches right. it kept running but rough. i held throtol to keep it running and found that the air (white) worked well in the 1 o'clock position and the fuel (red) at the twelve o"clock position.i forgot to mention that i changed the plug (dj8j) and i also noticed when changing the plug alot of carbon build up un the top of the piston (probably from trying to start rich) so i sprayed in the plug hole some wd-40 and used a long swab to clean it. i hpe this helps you i just sold it for $40.00
