Is that as the computer boots up and requires a password to start or do anything before any programs are running? If so it has a BIOS password set. To remove it, you can try the following: unplug and remove covers (take out battery if its a laptop), remove BIOS battery for about 30-40 seconds (looks like a watch battery only bigger). Refit and reassemble. Try is again and see if the password comes up. If so, you may need a program like WINDOWSKEY (off the internet) which will randomise the password and let you know what it is. You can than enter it and get into the computer and set a new one if necessary.
