How can i fix my dishwasher that won't empty water?

I sometimes had a problem with water left in the bottom of the dishwasher. My disposal runs slowly at times. Now I make sure that I run the disposal before turning on the dishwasher. If the disposal is full of water, water from the dishwasher has no where to go.

Dont know if this will help - but my dad highly recommends this - place and hold tightly a hose pipe (if you get access a connected hose pipe to the dishwasher) into the drain in the bottom of the dishwasher - get somebody else to turn on the hose pipe why somebody else is holding the other end tightly in the drain on the diswasher and let the water run through for ten minutes plus - dont know if it will solve your problem, but maybe worth a try !
