IE7 crashes and closes?

this could be a problem with whatever version of Acrobat you have. Try changing the Adobe settings to change the option that says something like "open PDF's in browser". This will open them in Acrobat itself when you click links and may solve your problem. If not, a reinstall of Acrobat or IE might help.
