whats wrong with my hotpoint wm63?

i turn dial to wash programs, washer fills for so long then stops,dial moves round, but washer does not do anything, will not even spin when dial is on spin program. Is my washer repairable

a new set of motor brushes WILL cure this problem, cured ours same symptons fill /drain/ programmer advance etc but no spin.
2 sorts of brushes blueish/black holder is ordinary carbon brush the white one is the laminated one they (LAST LONGER)
