Ford Ka leaking water into passenger side footwell?

Having been advised that the water leaking into the passenger side footwell was caused by a defective door seal, this was replaced at a cost of £45. No improvement. The vehicle is parked facing slightly uphill on our drive. We recently had the 1999 vehicle MOT'd and rust improvements made underneath in terms of panels/sills. Water will enter when vehicle is stationery rather than on the move. Any ideas please..........

My Vauxhall Vectra is leaking in passenger footwell and now is spreading to driver side too. Definitely not rain water, seems to be coming from under the car???? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If your Ka has air conditioning, water can leak out of the aircon unit if the drain pipe is blocked, I found a simple fix for this, no need to remove the dash, see www.pb4kn.co.uk/ka_leak.html

mine is doing this too, soakin wet an smells really damp!! told its the door seal. can any1 help us???

Hi alan,
I'm at the end of my tether with the same problem. My door seal was done to and still happening. This week they found a kink on the bulkhead heater pipe. They told me it won't come back, guess what, this morning carpets damp again! It's had 2 water tests and it doesn't sem to happen so i think it's gotta be coming from inside. If i find the answer i'll post you.

Apparently (on other parts of this site) the KA guttering on the front windshield is poorly developed, so when clogged water just overspills through the dash/easiest way to ground- same design flaw causes electric faults in Galaxys. Try clearing the gutter out (get a hanger down the holes!) and then hose down the car to see if the leak is still there!

if car has aircon there is adrain behind console on tunnel small rubber pipegoes through floor blocks up pull up clean and refit,other wise remove seats and carpets ,refit seats use car after drying out se where water runs from .if behind dash area prepare yourself for dash out and stagnent water smells

Hi

Its quite a Stupid problem realy and really hard to determine the source, i have got the exact same problem in my fiat punto.

I am going to change the front seals and then lift the carpet to make sure the water pipes below have not burst. try liftingn the carpet directly below passenger front.
