Cannon 10216G - How can I replace the 6-button timer unit?

I've just done this with my mothers cooker same make and model start with side panels screws at back and inside door then take silver side bits then underneath below glass panel with all the knobs etc there is four screws you can wiggle out the glass panel and pull it forward be careful here as all the wires are connecten then you can see two screws that retains the metal holder that holds the timer unit basically just keep unscrewing all the screws you can see and remember where they came from also make diagram of timer unit wires bad news is if you timer unit is knackered they cost more than a oner to replace even the little timer buttons are more than a fiver each so in my case it seems an uneconomical repair if I could bypass the thing I would
