How can I fix quartz watch?

When I took two watches to the watch menders today for new batteries,they said because batteries had been left in, both watches useless due to battery contamination. The new batteries would not work. When I examined them at home, they looked very clean inside. I did not accept this, as I just felt they could not really be bothered. Having been searching on the internet, I found various mentions of cyclonic cleaning for quartz watches. Is this what I'll have to get done before I can use them again, or is there something I can do myself (cheaoer)? Replica Rolex.
