How do I reverse the door on a Zanussi ZDC67550W Tumber Dryer?

Looking at the unit it seems very easy to reverse the door. The hinges can be removed and the plastic covers over the new locations are easily removed. I can do it all done in a few minutes; except for the mechanism that the door catch locks into. This alone is not customer friendly and seems to be mounted from behind with screws from the front, but the mechanism seems heavy and too large to be pulled back through the hole. If it drops, the dryer immediately becomes unusable. How do I gain access behind the facia to remove this mechanism and likewise fit it on the other side?
