I had the same problem, here is what I did.So far so good. First of all make sure you have your radio security code available before doing this, otherwise your radio cannot be reset. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, make sure that there is no contact while the terminal is disconnected from the battery, this can be done by placing an insulated material between terminal and the battery clamp, so there is absolutely no contact. This allows the Airbag system capacitors to discharge and reset.Wait at least 10 minutes. Now reconnect battery terminal.
The displays will all be off. Don't panic! Insert the key card and start the car then switch off to get the diplays working again. Now reset the radio as per instructions in the booklet. Unfortunately trip meter will be reset to zero as well as range etc, etc.
Airbag service light should now be off. This has worked so far. Good Luck.
